When Does A Structured Learning Program For Coding Become Necessary: The Microsoft Front-End Developer Professional Certificate
Filling My Gaps in Learning and Getting Work Ready

I’ve been learning to code for about 2 ½ or 3 years. When I first began my journey I had absolutely no knowledge of what coding was or where to begin. I simply thought it would be a useful tool to begin my freelancing career.
After Covid, I closed my hair salon. My plan was to have an online store with my own personalized hair products and cosmetics. I was going to write copy and blog posts for other businesses while I planned out my business.
I thought that as a solopreneur writing copy and posts businesses might require some enhancements to existing websites or building new ones for businesses that didn’t have them…so began my coding journey.
I was instantly hooked and I haven’t looked back…I was amazed at the unlimited free online resources that existed.
I dove in and I started learning. When I started, I didn’t even understand how to publish a web page or how HTML, CSS, and JavaScript worked together. I was just told over and over that HTLM is the skeleton, CSS is how the site looks and JavaScript is what makes things work.
Where I’m At In My Self-Taught Journey
I’ve finally come to a place where coding isn’t as obscure and my direction is less ambiguous. I want to nurture my blossoming programming skills. This is why I felt it was time to bring what I’ve learned to a place where my skills can be refined and properly disciplined.
Out of all the thousands of programming courses, I decided on Microsoft’s Front-End Professional Certificate. It seemed to be the most comprehensive, recognizable, and up-to-date certificate on the market.
What The Microsoft Front-End Developer Certificate Covers
This course will teach me all of Microsoft’s front-end workflow tools. GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Copilot, Blazor, and C# programming language.
I will also learn mobile-first design to create responsive websites, accessibility to make my designs usable and useful for as many people as possible, security to protect user data, and UI/UX design to make my designs aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
The program will even go into detail about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Why I Chose Microsoft Front-End Developer Certificate
I picked this certificate because even though I love Google more, I know I can trust Microsoft. This seems to be a solid curriculum that will set me up for success.
Google’s program is a bit too advanced for me, but earning this certificate will prepare me to prep for both Microsoft and Google’s developer certifications.
This certificate uses Microsoft AI-powered tools to prepare me for the AI workforce that’s currently before us.
Stay tuned, I’ll keep you posted as I make my way through the certificate.
