How Human Center Design is Impacting Sustainability

I've been watching the World Economic Forum Davos 2023, and one of the main topics of global concern discussed has been ways to accomplish sustainability.

One of the panelists stated a town in Zurik was designed with the idea of limiting car use.

I found this interesting because the psychological effects on the population were foundational to the planning of the city.

The idea was "build the entire community around the idea of not needing a car as opposed to you can't have a car."

What Does This Mean for Programmers

As designers an important part of our solutions has to be, how are we framing the intended purposes of our designs.

It's not just a problem for the UX/UI folks, it's a problem for the entire team and what the work produced will mean to the health of the planet.
